how easy should it be to upload a shopping cart onto a server?

for a week i have been trying to upload my shopping cart onto my web server it is a zen cart but i cant get it to work i upload it in my ftp software but when i have done everything i need to do it wont recognise the install command

Well, I don’t really know what the problem is. But.. if I understood correctly, you want to make money from your website right???

Well what you can do is to try and find some services that will do that for you!

I have seen this problem before and usually its to do with the way your web server is setup. For it to work your web site will need to have a couple of things enabled if your host is willing to do them. Minimum/suggested server requirements: PHP 4.3.2 or higher (PHP 4.4.x for optimal performance), Apache 1.3.x and MySQL 3.2.x or higher. Register Globals may be on or off, safe_mode off recommended.

MySQL 4.1.x uses an encryption scheme that is not 100% supported by PHP4, so may not work with Zen Cart unless you are using PHP5 … which of course is not officially supported by Zen Cart yet. These are a few of the things that you need to have and on top of this of course other things can go wrong depending on server configuration.

The best thing would be to contact your web host and ask for some technical support. All good web hosts will be able to sort this out withing a few hours for you. if you web host cant do this I would suggest that you change web host to one that can. I write reviews on my website and the majority of web hosting companies I deal with have Zen cart and at least 3 other all pre-installed and they work right off the bat. Not only that but the hosting costs under $10 a month. You can have a look on my site if your interested. I hope this will help you resolve your issue.
